But my plea is for a Legacy water tower & train station. A water tower with command controlled spout and water flowing sounds with crew talk. They already have a nice looking tower to start with. And a command control passenger station with station announcements, preferably self recordable. Using a fresh all new station building would be nice though

I like both of your suggestions.
hmmm........two very good suggestions......I would like to see that also!
Bill, that sounds so doable, and would add so much to a layout operation. Real interaction.
Excellent idea's Bill !
I would probably be in for both!
Yes, I also agree Bill, these are very good ideas and Lionel has the technology to bring these to market.
Actually, a few years ago I would have thought MTH could also bring something like this to market as they were making some very innovative accessories at the time.

Nice to see this type of thread start with something other than requested engines that have been discussed many times over.
I like your water tower idea. Personally, I am full-up now with stations. But I can understand how this idea may appeal to many.
The key element in producing these items would be quality speakers and a quality amplification system.
I think that putting the additional TMCC/legacy electrons in those accessories would make them cost prohibitive. I'm all for more action and sounds, but
The way to do it would be to activate the device through the accessory interface.
A contact closure would activate the device. This way it could also be used by the
conventional operator with a button.
I'll assume if you are willing to buy a legacy station you already have a legacy
system. So just add the interface to it and off you go.
Now maybe the second generation interface might have and analog out signal
that might allow you to control the speed of the device, who knows.
Actually I think the future is in wireless control. Lionel has already developed
the WIFI receiver. So the next step is to go wireless. Just put power to the device
, set the address and go. It would save a lot of wiring headaches. Something
else for the Ipad app... But that's another discussion.
Lionel scale steamers offered since 2010 already have coal and water filling sound effects in their individual sound packages.Diesels have refueling sounds as well.
I'm not saying its a bad idea, I'm not sure if Lionel would be "on board" with the idea.
Unless I heard incorrect, I thought the station with sounds left a bit more to be desired IMO. The sounds weren't nearly as good as those offered in one of the stationsounds diners or MTH's passenger effects for example.
