Hi,

I have bought a O-Gauge Polar Express set for my boys a few years back and this is the first time the train appear to be loosing power circling the track in spots.

I cleaned the track rails with a scotch-brite pas with rubbing alcohol but the problem remained.  when I was about to clean the wheels of the locomotive, I saw what looks like a loose wire on the rear set of wheels that has a coupler to the coal car (sorry, I don't know the correct name). Can someone tell me if the wire should be soldered to the copper strip in the picture?

Any advice would be welcome. The kids want to see the train circle the tree again this year.

Kevin
