Am wiring a 313 bascule bridge. Have wiring for posts 3, 4 and 5 figured out. Have 2 wires going to post 2 (light and gear box)--are there any others? Also, where does wire to post 1 come from? From upper post on motor brush plate? Does anyone have a wiring diagram? One in Greenberg book is for wiring to power and track, not internal to the bridge itself. Thanks in advance. Tom LoPresti

I’ll post a PDF shortly for you.
This should help you out. This gentleman passed this on to me years ago and it helped me salvage my 313 bridge.

Thanks, John. That's info in the Greenberg manual. What I was looking for is an internal wiring diagram for the bridge. Again, thanks for answering. Tom
Here is an internal wiring diagram for the Lionel 313 Bascule Bridge.

PennsyTurbine. That helps. Is there some way to identify where the 5 posts are on this diagram? Posts 3, 4 & 5 are fine. I have 2 wires connected to post 2, but not sure if there are any others. Also, do not know where wire from post 1 goes to on bridge. Can you help with that? Thanks. Tom LoPresti
Thank you PennyTurbine, this is a much clearer diagram than I have. Wish I had it when I was repairing my bridge about 10 years ago.
To your question, Tom, the 5 binding posts are shown inside the vertical rectangle in the center of the diagram. They are labeled as follows: 60 = Post 1; 69 = 2; 63 = 3; 26 = 4; 31 = 5. In the drawing Post 5 is at the top.
This may help Tom. It shows the bottom of the bridge base with the wiring. Also included is a wiring diagram with all the numbers removed to make it easier to see. While the terminals are numbered 1 to 5 they may not correspond to the 1 to 5 terminals in the Greenberg manual. I made a table to show where they go.

Here is the prewar 313 Bascule Bridge connection diagram and transformer hookup. The terminals 1 to 5 match the Internal Wiring diagram.

Thanks, Guys. That last bit of info should give me what I need. Appreciate the help. Tom
One last question, Guys. Based on the diagrams you provided, I assume the lead from post #1 internal to the bridge goes to the upper post on the motor brush plate. Is that correct? Thanks. Tom
That is correct, Tom.
Okay, I have one more question. There is a wire coming from the center rail of the short tack on the base itself. From the wiring diagram, it looks like it goes to post #4, but I'm not sure. Any help here? Thanks. Tom
Tom, the wire from the base center rail goes to post #5.
thanks, Dan. Tom
Dave, on the wiring diagram, it shows the light connected to post #4, but the narrative indicates it connects to post #2. Can you tell me which it is? Thanks. Tom
