Since Lionel did not make a Postwar Milk Train set so I made my own. I picked up a operating milk car and its non operating version and caboose at a local show during the weekend. The locomotive is my dad's 637 but I'm slowly working on a 2018 that a friend gave me a year ago I discovered I still need some parts for it but I'm taking my time but for now the 637 will pull the cars.

Nice. PW stuff is soooooooo reliable. I am slowly putting together an Army freight train. Lionel made a WWII Troop Train Set in the early 90s. I'm converting it to run an all passenger consist and an all freight consist. I love this stuff!
I've always liked the postwar milk cars. There is quite a variety out there if you ever want to put together a long milk consist.
Awesome! I too have been collecting PW operating milk cars for a milk train. I purposely buy the ones that need some TLC. (Missing doors, missing couplers, etc.) For now, they go into a box until I am ready to start the restoration project.
Outstanding!

Very nice! My Dad has about 15 of these, and once he gets them all operable, we are going to put them behind my 681, 736, or 2344 ABA set (or as many as they'll pull).
very nice. I do that too. I have tow 3472s that operate, one with no guts, and a 6742 I'll run together.
If you put a matching PRR tender on the loco that would look even better.
What a terrific idea. I just love finding postwar that needs some TLC. I also like theme type trains and a PW milk "train" would be awesome.
Thanks,
Ed
KHAYDEN,
Great idea, I love it!

yes. the milk cars make a beautiful train. I like the long milk cars the best.

At last count I had about 20 of the small post war milk cars and 5 of the big ones. It takes a strong engine to pull them, the small cars are quite heavy. In addition to these I have several of the K Line milk cars. Guess I just love milk cars!

Been wanting to do this for some time, as a companion to my MTH Isaly Dairy car collection. Nice job & thanks for reminding me of previous goals!
Now you need to load cows and set up a dairy! Cheese factory maybee.
Your milk cars are good looking...great looking cabin car!

I just have to build a layout to run it, a dairy would be a great idea to have on the layout
