Went by my LHS this afternoon to pick up some Lionel Premium Smoke Fluid. They didn't have it in stock, and after checking the computer, the guy helping me said it has been discontinued. Anyone know anything about this? Also he said (and I checked - Lionel has it at their site) Lionel has introduced scented smoke fluids, such as hot chocolate and peppermint. It's surprising noone has mentioned this, at least that I've seen.

Don't know, but IMO it would be bizarre if Lionel discontinued it without at least replacing it with a new Lionel premium smoke fluid. Arnold

Thanks. I'll have him check no. 83280. He did put the words "premium smoke fluid" in the computer, and it said discontinued, but maybe there was a glitch somewhere in the way he searched.
It's certainly confusing that Lionel has two product numbers (37841 and 83280) for the same thing, unless just changing the shape of the bottle warrants a different number. Possibly they changed the formulation.
I believe the 37841 was Lionels first venture into "premium" smoke fluid.
The scented fluids have been offered for some time now and Trainworx Mike Reagan sells the unscented Lionel premium by the quart if one goes through ALOT of fluid.
Flavors are as follows and they all come in the "newer" bottle with the dropper.

6-83276 Peppermint Scented
6-83277 Pine Scented
6-83278 Hot Chocolate Scented
6-83279 Wood Stove Scented
6-83280 Unscented
