I love my little PRR Mike Jr. but since my plans for a Legacy version of it's Big Brother fell through, so I would like to add a directional headlight so I can visually determine when I am in reverse.
Is this something relatively easy or the current electronics would not be capable of this being added?

The reverse light output is on the R2LC, so the major issue will be getting the light output back to the tender. If this has RS5, the reverse light output may be available in the tender already.
It has RS5 so I can open the tender and see what is there. And then if it is, got to source components and figure out how to mount them that it doesn't look like xxxx.

If all you want is a visual indication of reverse vs. forward, what about reprogramming the loco as a "diesel with RS and smoke" instead of "steam with RS and smoke"? The front headlight would then be illuminated in forward but go off in reverse.
A backup light could be fitted to the tender (PRR brass light castings are only a couple of bucks and Miniatronics makes small bulbs) but you'd need to drill the tender deck and the casting for the light wires, paint and mount the casting and make a clear plastic front for the light.
The light output is probably on the RS motherboard connectors. I normally try to find a similar locomotive to find the pin assignments on the motherboard.
