Their Seaboard Air Line PS1 car came with the 6-panel door, it should have had the 8' 7-panel Superior doors.  If they would put some spare, correct, painted/lettered doors in the box so folks could swap them out that would solve that issue.

This is the type of detail every manufacturer should try to get right.

All other aspects of their PS1 car are fine and fits in nicely with my MTH and Weaver PS1 cars.

To solve the Seaboard Air Line PS-1 40' Boxcar problem with the too narrow 6' doors, the people at Lionel can have a second road number produced with the correct 8' Youngstown doors and extra 8' Youngstown doors for the previous production.

At the same time the Seaboard Coast Line PS-1 40' Boxcars with 8' Youngstown doors and removed running boards can be manufactured.

It would have been highly unlikely that the Burlington Northern employees repainted more than a few of the PS-1 40' Box Cars. Most of the PS-1 40' Box cars were built between 1945-1960. The Burlington Northern merger was in 1970. These boxcars would have been an average of 20 years old by the start of the merger and the oldest 40' Box Cars were being phased out of regular service by 1980. There might have been some repainted, but most photos show a mix of the oldest boxcars in CB&Q, GN, and NP schemes in the 1970's.
