According to the Lionel Manual, this unit can be added in Conventional mode to any vintage post war or modern PWC engine.

It just supposed to make Diesel sounds, there is no power to the wheels:

In conventional mode you have to wait a few seconds for the electrical type sounds to end, while the unit looks for either a conventional, TMCC, or Legacy signal.

Once I power up, I hear about 4 seconds of the normal electrical noise and then the cool Diesel Sounds kick in.

So, I got the bright idea to add this B-Unit to a Williams A unit.

The B-Unit works fine on the track by itself, but whenever the Williams A unit is anywhere on the track, it seems the B-Unit can never get to the diesel sounds, it just makes those same electrical type noises it makes during the 4 seconds between power up and when the diesel sounds kick in except, they never get there.

Instead, of the deep bass diesel sound you get a static type annoying thump thump thump.

it is almost like the Williams loco is interfering with it just by being on the same track.

Ideas?
