TMCC engine with tender and the back coupler on the tender keeps opening. When I bought the engine previous owner and I ran it a bit and I think it opened once. Now it's becoming more frequent.

First step is to unplug the coupler from the electronics and see if it still opens. If so, then it's a mechanical issue. If it stops opening, then it's transients triggering the coupler triac. In that case, a 1uf 50V non-polarized cap across the coupler connector on the tender motherboard would be what I'd try first.
First step completed. Ran the set 20 minutes, perfect... Now I guess I'll need help with the cap.
