Lionel replacement 6-wheel heavyweight passenger truck (p/n 6205506050) for 6-25720 as received. Could someone tell me the best way to put this back together? The journal covers don't seem to want to stay on no matter what I do. It's very disappointing to receive parts in this condition.

They are the axel covers they come off alot in shipping I put it back on with crazy glue because the are small use a tooth pick to apply
There was a post from Lionel on how to put these on without gluing them but I can't find it. Maybe some one else remembers it. This was on the Polar Express cars as I recall.
You can't really glue them because the axle is sprung and moves up and down. It's a press fit in the truck sideframe if you can figure out how to do it. I'll see if I can find the post from Lionel.

You need to glue the tabs that bolt it not the actual axel I did this on almost all the heavyweight cars as they were loose in the box

Feet is right. Try searching the Polar Express passenger cars that were delivered right after Christmas. A bunch of people had the issue of fallen journals and Lionel Service posted the fix without glue.
