i am fixing the above but need some help on the sequencing of the fiber spacers/contacts for the reversing button. Thanks. I just finished soldering a new cord, note its white! Im 1,000 miles from home so some compromises must be made!!

OK, update. Think I have everything ok but I am not getting any voltage between A-U and B-U, the variable outputs. I get the proper voltages between A and all the other posts and B and it's corresponding posts, AC-9V, AD-19V, BD-15V and CD-10V. Does this mean the one coil is bad? The wiper arm is fine and moves along the top of the coil. So I can use the 10 volt, 15 Volt and 19 volt connections but can't get variable voltage so of course I cannot run trains. The short circuit light has not come on at all and the bulb is fine. Any help would be appreciated. However I am in FL and am going home tomorrow so I don't have a lot of time to fix this problem. Thanks
Check the reversing switch contacts,
If there is no problem there, check the whistle control contacts.
It was the reversing switch contacts. I had the pieces in the wrong sequence. They were not making contact when they should have been in contact in the resting or normal position. This was my original request, I thought I might have reinstalled the pieces in the wrong sequence and I did! thanks! Another job that took several hours instead of several minutes!
