I think it's a 'standard' [simple] 2-coil transformer which, if true, puts out pure 'sine-wave' power. Am I correct? Or at least partly so?

It's a standard transformer. The electronics it it are just a fancy circuit breaker, which, BTW, works very well.
Thx, grj. This agrees with my interpretation! Thus, I can measure volts & amps via my Supco multimeter and apply P = E x I to obtain 'average' power; right?
Yep, you should be able to compute power reasonably accurately.
I use several of them and you will love it. My son recommended them to me and I have been very pleased. Good, clean, dependable power and the breaker seems to give very good protection.

The only PROBLEM is finding one to BUY!!!
FREDSTRAINS
The problem in selling one is S&H. UPS nailed me for $28.50 to Arizona using the PoHo's factory box within my own outer box.
Dewey, you might check the USPS rates, I think you can do better than that.
A USPS Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box would be $15, for instance, and the PH180 box easily fits into that one. Truthfully, it would probably fit in the $10 Medium Flat Rate Box.
If it's very reasonable, I'm interested.
I have three of them on the layout, and one needed to have the output wires swapped. Has worked just fine with the others for several years now.
I have a spare one in the box if someone really needs one! Email in profile
