i picked up the Lionel Tacoma Rail SD70ACe engine from my good friends at Eastside Trains in Kirkland, WA near Seattle.  The service team had checked out the engine before I arrived to make sure it was in good running order, especially important since problems with the SD70Ave have been cropping up.  Store manager, Johnny, knows that I drive about 35 miles from Tacoma to pick up my new arrivals, so he made sure I did not need to make a return trip.  From my perspective, any reason to go to my train store is reason enough!

When the Tacoma Rail engine appeared in the 2018 Lionel Big Book, my jaw dropped.  My Home Town's Railroad has an Engine in the Catalog!!

While I have the Legacy system, I really like the Bluetooth, its quick to access and get everything up and running quickly.

This is our new Amtrak Station.  It will be in service at some point, hopefully soon.

This is a short video of the engine.  The horn is loud and awesome!

Hi Bob,  many thanks for being the first and only one to respond to my post!  Tacoma is not on the radar for many,  I sort of wonder why Toyota uses Tacoma as the brand for its truck (yes I have one of those too).

Brewman1973,

1. It is good to see a store manager (Johnny) take care of his customers, and not just see you as another "dollar bill" coming through his doors.

2. "Toyota Tacoma," from what I have been told, Toyota management selected the Native American word for Mount Rainier, suggesting strength, adventure, and the rugged outdoors.

3. Nice layout by the way, enjoy...
