Going to happen this year? Last year it was at the end of Sept. Years past it was in November. I have a list a mile long to send to @Bruk for Legacy conversions.

Well we could always try this... @Dave Olson or @Conrail6358. One of these 2 should know. Last year if I remember it was more of a "retail store" event.
The parts portion of the sale is happening again in September 23rd-25th. The original and official link http://www.lionel.com/articles...ual-Parts-Sale-2022/
Lionel is happy to offer the special 50% off parts weekend sale September 23rd - 25th. Please go to https://www.lionelsupport.com for all your needs and the special weekend only pricing.
50% OFF Parts Sale: September 23rd – 25th : Lionel Customer Service is offering 50% off parts orders during the weekend of Friday, September 23rd, 2022 (12:01 a.m. ET) through Sunday, September 25th, 2022 (11:59 p.m ET).

That said, the traditional warehouse sale that many of us grew to love and visit is not currently happening or scheduled that I have heard yet. That said, last year, in conjunction, they did make deals available via the webstore and also did bring some of the items (example mountain table of cars, refurbished engines) to the retail location there in the mall. FWIW, last year that's how I snagged my scale Polar Express refurb- that for all intensive purposes was a brand new never run engine as far as I could tell. And not all that long ago, I also snagged the REFURBISHED - Halloween LEGACY USRA Pacific #1031- that was the same condition as far as I could tell, brand new in the box, never run, maybe even never unpacked.

THANK YOU!!! @Vernon Barry for that wonderful news. As a "regular" for this sale, I maintain a shopping cart throughout the year, and empty it for the sale.
Giving credit to you, I started a thread on the Parts Sale to avoid confusion with the Warehouse Sale.
Thanks to you and THANK YOU Lionel!!!
PS: We can't all be like @gunrunnerjohn who get 50% OFF 24/7 365.

Awesome @Vernon Barry, and that's funny Pingman about Gun. LOL

I suspect without Hennings, GRJ would be like the rest of us.
I wish to disavow any inference that my reference to @gunrunnerjohn in any way begrudged his entitlement to such discount.
Why @MartyE made the comment he did is baffling to me.
My comment was a tongue in cheek observation that GRJ has made himself regarding us civilians taking advantage of the sale.
Enjoy the sale.

Maybe a smiley face was in order. It's all just in fun.
In the past, the parts sale and warehouse sale have been at or around the same time. Looking at the calendar, September 23rd-25th is the weekend of the NHRA fall race at Charlotte, which (for those that haven't been there) is literally in between Lionel's facility and the mall where their store is. I don't know if they'd plan around it, but I certainly wouldn't want to try to get to Lionel's facility on a race weekend.

My guess is the Retail Store will have bargains and online. I suspect there won't be a warehouse sale based on last years event not happening.

They did have a sort-of-warehouse-sale last year at the retail store, and the employees there were - to put it kindly - exceptionally unhappy with corporate for pushing it on them. Lots of comments about corporate employees hiding because of the pandemic and forcing them to move a bunch of overloaded pallets of stuff, work outside their job description, etc.
No clue if that will impact the decision this year, but based on what they were saying in front of/to customers, I'm sure there have been heated discussions about it.
Lionel said in Nashville at LCCA Conv no warehouse sale at store. But parts sale is a go for Sept as above.
Well based on the email I just got, it looks like the Warehouse Sale is indeed virtual.

Don't bother me none. Live to far away and I have a parts list I'll order online.
In December last year, the Lionel Store--through Amazon-- offered new starter train sets at 40% off for a period of about 4 hours. I picked one up and gave it as the perfect Christmas gift to a friend's child who absolutely loves trains.

Yes I got the same e mail. I have an account with LIONEL, wondering if one has to log on the site for the virtual Warehouse sale or will it be on Facebook? I guess time will tell?

It' just going to be online through the Lionel store.
The special deals tab or category is where you are likely to see many items added that weekend

Parts is still going to be through parts.

Facebook, is nothing more than a place they advertise.
The store regularly has a table of rollibg stock and sometimes engine bargins. During the pandemic I found a Legacy heisler for around $400.00.

Thanks Joe,
I was going to ask if there was official announcement on the sale.

Speaking to staff at the retail store there will be items for sale at the store again this year, last weekend in Sept, same as the online parts sale.

Kicking myself that I didn’t see that. I would’ve picked up the Santa Fe passenger set for about $200
Well I made two separate orders Friday. Still awaiting the large one to be shipped. The small one got dropped off by FedEx Sunday.
I was able to get a SD70ACE Legacy at a great discount, ordered Friday - delivered yesterday! Same with the parts I ordered.
