Lionel Santa Fe 2353 WON'T RUN

First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. So many times I was going to give up but with your suggestions I ventured on.  I did as you said took front engine apart and looked for any damage wires.Found wire not connected from the sliding shoe and the connection to the front coil coupler. Soldered back on shoe.

Now, on a bench test, I got forward and reverse and train runs on track..all fixed
