Just curious.

Lionel has produced three? different 4 car heavyweight sets over the last decade or so:

6-25646 The Scout   2014

6-25503 ATSF California Limited  2009

6-15526 The Chief  2005

Each of these has their own respective 2 car add-on set

I know each is named for a specific train.

Any one of these a "better " set  (more detail or features) than the others?

My railroad doesn't need to be historically accurate, just like to have good detailed livery (I've always liked Lionel heavyweights, I own some Mth too).

Are all these sets a mix of cars lettered Santa Fe and Pullman, or is one of these lettered entirely Santa Fe?

Years ago I had a Lionel set that I bought at an estate sale, it had 4 cars (heralded ?) Santa Fe .

( at some point, I sold them..they were probably all from different sets in the wrong box).

Is there a list of what each Lionel set had as far as car numbers 6-xxxxx, what car name, and if that car was Pullman or lettered Santa Fe?

Individual cars come up for sale at shows and on line. It might be fun trying to acquire a set a piece at a time.

Thanks in advance.

I have cars from 2 of the different sets that I am going to sell. They had windows that were spidered out and came that way from the factory. The only difference in the cars that I saw was the safety chains from the floor to the sideframes..... which I had to remove anyway because they limited the movement causing derailments

I have the Chief set plus the add-ons, including Station Sounds diner.

Like Laidoffsick's, my windows are "spider webbed" like many others produced at that time.  They are decent cars, although they seem to be a weird color, neither green nor grey.  But they are dark and are definitely heavyweight.  Like most equipment, they look fine when running on the layout instead of standing still to be critiqued.
