Hi - I picked up a Lionel SC-2 TMCC switch controller at York and I was wondering, Do I need to modify the controller (Make that cut on the trace),when I am using it to control Ross switches with the DZ-1000 switch machines. ? I searched the forum and all I could find was that for command fast track switches you had to modify the controller. If I don't have to modify the controller I'd rather not. Thanks in advance

The SC-2 controller will work fine for terminals 2 through 6 (5 total) without trace modification on terminal one. Assuming your DZ-1000 are wired as per instuctions.
Hi Mike - So I need to modify position one to use all 6 terminals?
Yes

George: I’m not sure what is meant by “cutting a trace” but I have one SC-2 controlling 3 Lionel Super O switches, 1 Gargraves switch with a DZ-1000 motor and 2 Lionel accessories. I did NOT have to cut any trace or anything else to get the DZ-1000 to work correctly. But I did have to wire-up the DZ-1000 control buttons for the DZ-1000 to work from the CAB-1. I also have one Ross switch with a DZ-1000 motor but it is wired through an SC-1.
HTH,
