Just dawned on me .... I have a Legacy Scale Polar Express Berk on order. Lionel states: "0-54 minimum curves."

Have you guys run your Berks on 0-48 Fastrack? Did it run flawlessly?

This engine, along with some PE cars, represents a large and unprecedented train purchase for my wife and I. Our Christmas layout is comprised of 0-48 curves and switches.

Thanks

Jim

I wouldn't recommend it. I tried running my PE berk on my o-48 inner loop and the pilot wheel to the inside of the turn wants to rub the steamchest.

It also looks horrible as the four center drivers hang in mid air off to the side of the inner and outer rails.

Do yourself a favor and get some o-60 curves, it will run much better.

This is the reason that I did not get one since my home layout biggest curves are O48. Went with a GP7 and GP35 units instead.

Jim,

Why don't you see if your dealer can switch your order over to a Polar Express K4 instead of the Berk? There are some real good buys right now (Naussau Trains $675), it is a scale engine, smoke whistle and will do the 048 curves and look good while doing them. I would think even if the Berk can make the curve it will not look good doing it. The scale Polar Express cars will look good behind the K4. Oh did I mention Lionel Legacy sounds too.
