Lionel Scale Polar Express Cars Left....

Seems that's the pattern with several dealers.  Wonder why the big mismatch between observation cars and regular coaches?    Possibly folks ordered extra coaches (albeit duplicates) to make longer trains.

David - these cars were offered/ordered at different times. The observation cars came last, and we had no idea how many people would need them to complete their set so we ordered a few more than we had previously. I'm guessing lots of dealers did that. 

That'll do it, Steve.  I know for the gold P/E train, I purchased several "duplicate" coach cars, since Lionel didn't produce the variety of passenger car offerings they did with the regular scale P/E train.  So I think the same phenomenon has occurred there -- some dealers now have an odd gold observation car or two (or three).

Hello Folks,

I am busy acquiring a Polar Express line for my layout composed of heavyweight cars. 

I started in the spring by buying the Legacy Pere Marquette Berkshire and tender from Mr. Muffin.  A few weeks ago, I started looking for the PE heavyweights.  I am fortunate in buying 3 of the cars from Mr. Muffin and searched over hill and dale (other stores) for those that he didn't have.  I have not seen the 'Abandoned Toy' car anywhere but am satisfied for now with the ones I could find.  They are getting scarce quite fast.
