Agreed, I took the time to swap out my bad fan. The next Christmas "the magic smoke" was released from the transformer. My wiring look OK.... But, there you are. 

In case you hadn't thought of it...

 

Put back regular screws when you re-assemble the CW-80.  That way you won't have to go find the triangle head screwdriver next time.  My ground-down homemade screwdriver has only so many unscrews left before it starts not working. 

 

Hope I'm not "stating the obvious!"
