The first run of the UP heritage units wheels were oversized causing problems with some switches. Other then that they are the same.

In Legacy, the first locomotives used the modular boards (R4LC-RS Power-Railsounds audio) boards. Shortly after the locomotives started using the much superior RCMC board system.

Example 6-28303-BNSF modular boards/ 6-38732 Burlington Heritage with RCMC boards.
