Lionel Service Center Repair Question

Is there a way to produce a copy of the transaction from your bank? Or maybe call the store you bought it from and see if they could get you a receipt?

There are plenty of great repair guys on this forum. Someone will chime in.

I was able to get a receipt from my LHS when I had to send my Legacy system in for warranty work. They printed me a duplicate to send to Lionel. Like yours, my original was also missing.

Not far from you is a good guy for service, Alex Malliae, if you can't get Lionel to work on it, I suspect he will.

Thanks for the replies.  I already tried to get a copy of the reciept.  

Hopefully some of the guys here on the forum can recommend a good place or person that repairs lionel.

Yep, 

Many of us here  on the forum have used Alex Malliae . I am in Tennessee and have sent many Lionel TMCC steamers to him for repair or uprade.

Did you talk to one of the girls?    What is wrong with your Legacy engine?  Throw out your issue.

Marty, yes I talked with Megan at Lionel customer service.  The engine is triping the breaker as soon as I apply power to the rails.  

I can't even address it with legacy, the instant the power is applied the breaker is trips.  

Watching the game now, GO SHARKS!!!

Where did you purchase the engine? If from a known Dealer, he can email you a receipt, you in turn can email Lionel a copy of the receipt...Simple fix...My Dealer is 100 miles away and we deal by email...The new way to Connect...Of Course, Alex M is a Fantastic Repairman....Thanks for posting.. Give this a look and you may get lucky.  Look at the top of each truck and make sure the roller and ground wire ends that attach to the truck are not touching.  Common issue.  If you are good on both trucks, remove the wires from one truck at a time and apply power to the other truck.  If you still show short, reverse what I stated and start with the other truck.   Your issue may just be a shorted wire inside the truck from rubbing against ground.  I get to see this often.   Just a process of elimination.  Takes just a few minutes.   You can also remove wires from both trucks and hit the hot and ground on any end with transformer power and you should be able to start.  If you get it out of short mode, attach one  truck and retest.  This way you can back door where your short is.

If you need it to go someplace, Alex can get you running.

Hi Guys, just an update.

I took a look at it but still could not figure it out.  I contacted Alex Malliae and sent it out to him along with my Acela for repairs.
