Bob,

I missed this post and was just about to post mine as I just received them today. Yes they look 100 times better.  The only odd thing is they did not paint the Diaphragms - see 4th picture - If you look at them close it is just raw plastic molded to that color. The few pictures that I can find of the back of a T&P F7 show they were either body color or black. I think I can fix that myself.

Last picture shows the old shells for reference next to an Atlas Mopac F3. Remember the Mopac and T&P were there own entity and the T&P always painted there engines close to the Mopac but not exactly and was a thorn in the side of Mopac until complete take over. Swamp Holly GP7 and GP9's for example. Different looking F units.

The Mopac Alco FA's arrived with the same paint as the T&P F7's last week. Personally I think this is wrong as the Mopac unit should look more like the Atlas F3's. But anything is better than the prior F7 paint color.

Thank you Lionel for fixing these - I will not have to wear a sack over my head to run them in public.

T&P F7

Friend brought over his new MP FA-FA pair. They appear to be the same Blue with White two tone as your EMD F's rather than the deeper Blue and Cream of the Atlas units. While they do look pretty, I think as you say the Atlas colors are more accurate.

I purchased the Texas & Pacific F7s AAB and Super Bass two years ago and unfortunately just opened them. The Suoer Bass is the wrong color. I have started contact with Lionel...but we shall see. My reason for replying to this old post is that I wanting suggestions for Passenger Cars. What passenger cars would the T&P have pulled. I can find anything from Lionel.

Thanks

Well F7s were freight engines and these are painted as such. A couple were regeared for passenger service and likely received passenger paint. The more  common motive power was E units. However I plan to use my F/7s to pull the new T&P passenger set that Scott Mann has about to be produced under the Golden Gate Depot trade name. I am hoping eventually we get some More correct passenger engines. I have a full set of the corrected ABA shells and if anyone needs them I will sell for what Lionel charged me for them.

Check out the thread   “GGD Missouri Pacific EAGLES” in the “3 rail  traditional…” section and see the Golden Gate Depot website and check out the MP and T&P offering.
