I'm still waiting for my LHS to notify me that my Heisler (Cass Scenic) has arrived.  I've been told repeatedly that the shipment "has slipped/delayed."  Should I be concerned?  If so, any suggestions on how I can track down the reason for the delay...

Yes because they have already shipped! I would call your hobby store and ask them what is going on.

Definitely echo these sentiments.  Those Heislers shipped from Lionel to direct dealers and distributors a couple of months ago...  early August, if I recall correctly.  So more than sufficient time has elapsed to account for even a "mom & pop" LHS to receive their orders from distributors by now.  Follow up immediately to see what the LHS's issue is.  If you sense you're getting more run-around, then find a new supplier for your trains.  Be polite but firm... and let them know that you know this stuff has shipped awhile ago.  Hopefully, you didn't need to put a deposit down.   I think a place like Nicholas Smith Trains still has most, if not all, of the roadnames.

Looks like it's that time of the year again when Lionel ships more than just the typical end-of-month shipment to dealers and distributors.

Charlie, I only see TWO Legacy 0-8-0 switchers in your list, and the Steel City Switcher set didn't make the list yet either.  I presume Lionel is splitting the shipment of 0-8-0's, and we'll see the remainder of 0-8-0 roadnames -- along with the Steel City Switcher set -- in the October end-of-month shipment?

I agree, follow up and get an answer quickly. Realizing these are toys and not lungs for transplant we had a few items on order and were told by the hobby shop "they are coming" or "shipment was delayed", etc. Turned out the shop was behind in paying their invoices and never got the items in.

That's whatI'm afraid of.  I haven't seen indications in the showroom he's in financial  trouble, and for years, he's been great. but these last two experiences are  causing  concern. He also 'allegedly'  ordered a VL GG1 for me, but never asked for a pre-order down payment.  Go figure.  Well, I'm going there after York and if no Heisler, the games will begin.
