Hello everyone, I was going to sell my Lionel passenger sound car which was brand new still in the box including shipping box, so I open it this evening to check it out make sure everything looked good and it works. I notice when the interior is lite up and you are looking down on the car the windows look kind of frosty. When I look at them on the window level straight on you can not see the frost. Is this correct? Does any one have one of these car and have the same thing when looking down at an angle on the windows? Just wanted to see if this was normal. I bought this off eBay awhile back and never opened the shipping box. Thanks for your time guys. Frank

I feel your pain. Last week I took my Lionel N.Y.C. heavyweights out of the container and placed them on the track for the first time in a few years and after coupling them to my Hudson and starting to run them I was horrified to see the same blistered window problem that I know had plagued the C&O heavyweights. These are beautiful cars, but I am annoyed that I have to purchase new tinted replacement windows.

I just got around to searching Lionel's site for replacement tinted windows for the defective ones in my NYC heavyweight cars and unfortunately the windows are shown as unavailable. Does anyone know of a source for lightly tinted plastic window material that I could cut to fit?
