I'm posting a brief video by a friend andforum member N&W 1218 of a Lionel neon sign recently acquired by another friend of ours. He got it from  a craft store in central Illinois that sold Lionel trains back in the 1980's. The video shows our friend briefly walking into the shot to give you an idea of the sign's size. While the neon is original , he had the rest of the sign's components converted to solid state circuits. The animation action is adjustable in speed. The original owner remembers he got it from California, but can't remember if it was custom made "one off" or a sign available to dealers at that time. Our friend, the new owner, who operates a home layout would appreciate any feedback on who might have made the sign. There is no manufacturer's identification on it.
