I would like some advise or thoughts on the matter. Several months ago, I found a couple of curved sections of Lionel T Rail Track. The sections are in great condition but there is red paint that appears to have been spilled in places. Some of the rail is covered and same with some of the ties. Also some of the rail has a slight bit of rust. I think, but not sure, the track was chemically blackened from the factory. Maybe the ties were painted and rails blackened? What are everyone’s thoughts about if I were to repaint the sections black. I know painting old Lionel Trains in most cases is frowned upon.
