Have recently obtained a 152 O Gauge loco in pieces. Reassembled it and it runs great. This unit has Tab/Slot couplers similar to Marx Tab/Slot couplers. Had thought latch couplers were the earliest Lionel couplers. What rolling stock did Lionel produce with these Ta/Slot couplers? Kindly advise. Thanks in advance. John Miller

I will give you what is written from "Greenberg's Guide, Vol. II , O & OO gauges, exactly as it is written.
152 ELECTRIC: 1917-1927, 0-4-0, NYC S2 Class, nickel finished strap headlight and bell, rubber-stamped "NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES" in oval on body and "152", early models non-reversing, some later ones hand-reversing with reverse rod at end. Models with hand-reverse feature were not cataloged. 1917 models with pilot mounted rivets securing HOOK couplers; 1918 and later with the HOOK couplers mounted in frame slots, black frame, 5 1/4" long body. Early models have Y-shaped stanchions soldered to the body fastening the wire handrails, while later models have stamped brass handrails, fastened by tabs, and latest production has stamped nickel-finished handrails. Early locomotives with strap headlights have bent-over headlight tabs; later locomotives have strap headlights with twisted tabs. Early locomotives have bell brackets fastened by screws that thread into the bracket. Later locomotives have bells fastened by screw from bell bracket into locomotive hood and fastened by nut on underside. Windows usually outlined in Red.
Hook couplers were first, 1915 to 1927, Latch couplers were not made until 1923.
