Many of you know that I prefer windup trains, and as such I normally hang out in the tinplate forum. However, I have been looking around for a modern Lionel Thomas to repower with a clockwork motor for my windup train display that I take to the local OMRA train show. I finally found one cheap that apparently had problems with the electronics... perfect for my purposes. I removed the motor and electronics from Thomas, and decided to put the actual windup motor in Clarabel to push Thomas around. Not a very difficult project, but it was a big hit at the fall train show. Anyway, I decided that this project deserved a little different video than I normally make, so here is "Out with the New, In with the Old" in the style of the original Thomas and Friends shows:
