Has anyone tried converting a Lionel TMCC crane to 2 rail? How are the axles mounted?

Ed Reutling converted one to 2 rail and DCC years ago. Theres an article on it in an O Scale Trains. If it was archived it would be on this forum also.
Nope, just searched. That Ed is a resource..... I'll go check OST

I just checked, and it appears to be printable. One does not have to print the entire mag, just the pages wanted.
Ed, I downloaded the whole OST issue. What a great resource. When I tried just the article, it was a dead link. I want the crane and sound car. I'm so big on the sound effects. For me, the thrill is not there without the sounds.
Thanks, Joe
I have Ed R.'s Crane. I don't have DCC as yet. I bought the Crane before I was seriously considering battery power, which Ed is also promoting.
I will get DCC within the next year. I'll let the forum know how well the Crane works at that time. Ed's video on YouTube shows it well as he ran the Crane.

Depending on what you want concernintgDCC, and as you said, apparently you have not as uyet committed to your source of power, polease for ypour sake take a serious looik at R/C self contained. Since the introduction of the LiPo basttery, performance has greatly improved [increased run time and reduced charge time.
Joe, sorry to steal your thread
