As one of the Dealers who hosted a Lionel Train Day. I have to say, it was a Success!

I have a small shop in Mid-Missouri, I did just a little bit of print advertising outside of letting local clubs know what was going on.

I have never had as many people in my shop in one day ever. There were Grandparents out to see what was new from when they were kids, there were lots young families there with their kids and many more. Even if Lionel does not continue on with this, It will be an annual event at my store. I didn't do a Black Friday deal, since this was the next weekend, and I was glad I didn't.

As to the Boxcar, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of interest in ordering one, I only took orders from 2 people.  I think it was the price point, but maybe there just inst that many collector's who were interested.

I hope everyone else who hosted an event had success and all those on here who attended one, had a good experience.

We had a really good time with the whole National Lionel Train Day. We had a lot of customers visit and it brought several new customers that had never been here before. We had a great storewide sale, we started big Harry's Saturday's Trailer Sale, our railroad club (North Penn O Gaugers) had the train layout set up & running, people went down to the Christmas Trees Display which had our 'Trains IN the Tree' on display and young Harry got hot dogs, sausage, snacks & drinks to give out. Oh, and we took orders for about a half dozen for boxcars.
