Lionel Tugboat question

I have the PRR one with sound and smoke there was a B&O and NYC as well I have not seen one without sound

My NYC has them all.

I have a Sante Fe one with all lights and sound. 

When the NYC tug (the first tug issued), it did NOT have lite port and starboard (red & green) lights.  Later releases of the tug PRR / Santa Fe etc. had all the lights lite.  I did a retro fit to get red and green led marker lights on my NYC tug.

Here is the NYC one Paul. No running lights but does have illuminated wheelhouse lights. Has on & off switch, as well as horn & smoke.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Somehow a tug is in my future. Just not sure if it is the Lionel version or a kit.

Capt John, I forgot about your tugboat although I could see a ferry in your future on the layout.

I'd be interested in knowing some details about your retrofit of the lights. I have the NYC tug as well. I saw that Lionel has the parts available for the lighted port and starboard lights. Did you use those? Any other information on the retrofit would be appreciated.

Here's shots of my tug, the life boat and mast assembly is not on the tug yet, as I am not sure just where the tug will be positioned. Once I decide that, I will finish the assembly, and wire the tug for lights and sound. In case you do not know the sounds featured, these are some of the sounds: tugs whistle; tugs engines; sea gulls; buoys; fog horn etc. I have not tested the smoke unit, but I hope it will be satisfactory to complete the "feel". Hope this helps.

I don't have one, but they are very cool.

I had all four, I still have the PRR and B&O, the ATSF I sold, the NYC one took two fish from a MTH submarine off Sandy Hook.

All four made sounds.
