The TW is essentially two 1033 transformers, one w/ fixed outputs only and the other w/ variable and some fixed outputs just like a 1033/1044.

Each core can deliver 4.5-5 amps continuously, and it is protected by 2 thermal breakers. For external breakers, that will depend on on the circuit and the load you are protecting more than the type of transformer.

Would that mean I would need a 6 amp breaker? I at the moment only have a LC 2-4-2 and three 11 inch coaches which use less than 2 amps DC from the wall wart. I am hoping to add the LC+ BN NW2 (single motor) when it ships and possibly double the number of coaches. With this information is is possible to determine the breaker needed?

Thanks Allin

Unfortunately, what you read was wrong.

There is NO circuit breaker fast enough to protect the electronics. What you want to do is search the now voluminous subject matter on this in the forum to provide you with the answers on Transient Voltage Suppression, and as an ancillary subject, using separate external circuit breakers on the outputs of your TW for transformer and wiring protection(the breakers are not for, and never were for, protecting the trains) if you desire.
