Purchased a Lionel "V" transformer that I want to use on my layout for accessories. I opened it before I plugged it in and, good thing, because the black wires leading to the red light had lost much insulation. I have repaired several ZW's, KW's and others but have not seen wiring in this condition. Can someone recommend type of wire to use and anything else I should be aware of with a type "V".
