Lionel vs. Williams F7 shells | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

This is probably on the Forum files somewhere, but I have enough trouble navigating the forum that I help moderate, so please forgive me if it's been discussed before. I have a set of "plain Jane" Williams F 7s on the way. (No stripes, no grill work, no # boards, no antennae). Were they copied from the Lionel shell enough to make a swap? There is a better detailed Lionel F7 shell on eBay. Also, the Lionel shell does not have the nose insert and the rear top cover. Might these be available from (any) parts source? Thanks in advance. (Ask me about 1941 Cadillacs... I'm a world class expert on those...)

Williams F7 shells are actually a copy of Kusan, not Lionel. If you care, the nose contour on the Kusan/Williams shells is wrong and doesn't look like a real F7 or like Lionel's model. Lionel and K-Line F7's are pretty good.
