This evening I went to the Lionel Warehouse sale in Concord, NC, sponsored by the LCCA. There were some really great deals there. 001

002

I spent nearly $400.00 on quite a bit of stuff. I could have easily spent 5 times that amount and not blinked an eye.

003

004

I left about 8:15 and the crowd thinned quite a bit.

011

If you are within a few hours of Charlotte you may want to make a trip tomorrow-there's still plenty left for sale.

Scott,  it was great seeing you at this LCCA Special Event hosted by Lionel.  Thnk you for posting these photos.  If any of you are in the Charlotte NC area tomorrow, you will definitely want to make a visit.  This event is open to the public on Saturday 11-9-13 from 8:00AM to 5:00 PM

Al K.

I was there last night and ended up getting stuck in traffic by the time I got there the with all the Thomas and Polar Express stuff was pretty much empty. I did find 2 18" Amtrak Amfleet coaches but my dad on the other hand had a field day, He got two 18" aluminum A.T.S.F passenger cars a case of 048 fast track curves some American Flyers cars and Train shed a $20 NYC 0-8-0 switcher and $5 Polar Express tender which he plans to re letter both engine and tender into A.T.S.F. and a bunch of Lionel Merchandise.

I arrived last night soon after they opened and thought I was still in rush hour traffic.  The room was packed and the bargains plentiful!  Scott's picture of the table of unboxed cars for $5 was soon empty, the stack of shelf worn Thomas Sets for $60 was quickly gone(unopened sets for $150),  the FastTrack options blownout.  various choices of rolling stock for $25 cleared away.  Lots of familiar faces, but I was too busy to put many faces and names together.  Thanks LCCA and Lionel for making the opportunity(and the drive) so worthwhile.

Larry, you should have gone !!  My only motivation, was reading

Scotts 1st posting at 11:30 Friday night,  It was worded just a little bit different.

Covinced me !!!! and with 2 1/2 hrs sleep. off I went.  Put it this way,  I need to

begin the layout adjustments preparing for Legacy, system

Yea, Scott, I kinda of figured on that,

Well, Luis, your supposed to read that LAST sentence,  of mine

but look at this way, I got home and looked everything up, and I nailed 4 of the 5 engines were signature Catalog (2013). Oh, and the boxes say Legacy!!!!! Can you hear me laughing all the way

over there, 2200 miles away.

Just as an idea, was walking towards check-out, and for sure, under my

goal, that I had wrote down, in car.  Thought a minute:  why not

Walked back over: and get the Freight car set in the picture, - 30157

went down the table, and still 2 boxes of Minn, loco (legacy), -38323

got this set -- Just because of this year Hallmark ornament. They are up in

the closet, un opened.  And Loco (2010 catalog),  oops,  the cars (2013 Fall cat),

Yes, but from the pictures and Scott's description above, the prices appear much less in Carolina.  IIRC in Ohio, the freight cars were $10 (plastic trucks) and $15 (diecast), locomotives in OH were IMO not greatly reduced.  Some engine prices were the same or lower from some dealers than listed for Sale in OH.  So my thought is that the Carolina sale is designed to move all remaining odds & ends/refurbs/returned products/set break-ups before calendar year end and probably before their fiscal year end that I would guess to be no sooner than Feb/Mar.

Thanks!

As far as I know this is was the 2nd one in under a year that was open to the public. When we were there for the LCCA's Red Carpet Event back in March, one of the Ladies from Lionel who was working at one of the check counters told my wife that they had one of these open houses back before last Christmas.

In a way I'm glad that I could not be there for this one, I had a prior commitment and it's around a 8 hr. drive.

In March we wound up filling the minivan with no room to spare. And back in August in Canfield, Ohio we had less to bring back home. And now I have to save up for my Big Boys.
