Lionel Open House & Warehouse Sale! Nov. 7th Thru Nov. 9th

I have been to several of these events. It is worth joining the LCCA just to attend.

Boy, that's the same weekend as the Allentown First Frost Train Meet.     Not that I'm comparing the two or anything.  I'd like to go to the Lionel Open House someday, but the distance makes it a bit difficult right now, whereas Allentown is a quick in-and-out for us Jersey folks.  (Plus there's the Farmer's market....doughnuts!!!)  It's just funny how they happen to fall on the same weekend.

Too bad they have this sale on the same weekend as the longstanding  Neuse River Valley Model Railroad Club Trains & Railroadiana Show and Sale. It is a two day show with setup on Friday. Probably hurts attendance both ways.

I've been wanting to go to one of these Open Houses, unfortunately my schedule is pretty tight that weekend. What's Club Night about, is merchandise available for purchase during the Club Night? What kind of merchandise is available, are there products from the newest catalog?

The decision is a no-brainer for me.  I'll be at Allentown. 

45-minutes vs. Lord-knows-how-long-of-a-ride on the Interstates?  No thank you.

While it's a novel idea for Lionel to host these warehouse open-houses, I'd surmise that distance limits the attendance to pretty much the same folks each year, geographically speaking.  Lucky if you live a couple of hours away (or less), 'cause visitors will likely have a great time.  Otherwise, it's likely not on most folks' radar screens.  Even long-distance drivers who are up for the ride might still be "recovering" from the long ride to York just 2-3 weeks earlier.

I probably would attend if the drive was an hour or two. For me, it would be much longer than that. 
Will the presentations be posted online?

Too bad there isn't an online shopping component for the sale.

What's Club Night about, is merchandise available for purchase during the Club Night? What kind of merchandise is available, are there products from the newest catalog?

In the past there has been repaired items, items in shop worn or damaged boxes and overstocked items. Some new in box starter sets at competitive prices.

Anyone know if Lionel will be offering 50% off parts once again?

If you are not a current Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) member, you may want to attend the private sale event on Friday night 11-7-14.  You can join the LCCA at the door.  Regular Memberships only cost $35/year and Electronic Members are only $25/ year.  This will be a great way to avoid the large crowd on Saturday and Sunday.   You will get first choice on the sale items too!   We hope to see you there At Lionel on Friday, Nov 7!

Yes the Friday night sale event is limited to LCCA members and Lionel's die cast club members only.  You are welcome to join the club at the door on Friday evening.

Come to the Lionel Open House Sales Event event scheduled for Nov 7-9 in Concord NC.  Come and see the LCCA/ Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad Layout in action.   This is a great way to have fun with a layout; if you don't have the space in your home for a full size layout.   On Friday evening Nov 7, this event is limited to  LCCA and RCCA members only.  Saturday and Sunday is open to public.     Come on Nov 7 and beat the crowd.   You can join the LCCA at door on Nov 7.  Spread the word.  We hope to see you there!

Are the dates the same every year?

Here are the past dates:

December 1st, 2012 - This was the 1st

November 9th, 2013 - Members only was on Friday November 8th

Pure speculation on my part but maybe they are settling on the 2nd weekend of November?  Also, I think this is the first two day warehouse sale.

Edit:  Just to be clear the above are the Annual Lionel Warehouse Sale dates not the Lionel LCCA Open House dates in the Spring.  (The two are completely different events in my mind)

No, the dates are not the same every year.  We have had similar events in the Spring.  Lionel makes their decision if they want to have an event independently and during each year.  Many factors go into their decision such as  previous year sales and attendance, current product sales, current inventory in stock , other scheduled events, budgets etc.

One day I'm going to make this event!  The wife's birthday is smack dab in the middle of it all.  I don't think this is what she would have in mind for her dream weekend.  

How many folks from here are planning on going Friday Night?  Really would be nice if we could get together for a meal post show.

I've got the same problem. Becky's birthday is Nov. 10 and the children always come home with their families so I can't go either....and it's only a 75 min drive.

Hope to make it on Friday but not sure if we can make it happen.  If we buy something is cash, check or credit permitted?

Do I need to have my LCCA number or have the actual card with me (not sure I know where it is!) and what is the admission policy for my 12 year old?

Yes, I believe Lionel is accepting major credit cards, checks and cash.  Bring your photo ID and we will check our data base for membership.  Your spouse and children are considered to be family members and are welcome to attend.  Hope to see you there!

Made the trek down to Concord, NC without a hitch. Anxiously waiting for the train shopping to begin! Lots of great things to see in the area while I wait, too.
