I’m in the process of wiring my layout and installing the Lionel ZW-L and incorporating my CAB1L for command control.

I’ve watched the Lionel ZW-L instruction video but have a few questions.

The ZW-L is able to be controlled via command using the CAB1L.  I understand that once the ZW-L is programmed the four built in Power masters can be addressed by the CAB1L but how do you address the Legacy engines.

Is it possible to program one of them, Output A for instance, in command and Output D in conventional?

When I had my layout powered by Powerhouses and TPC’s I had the ability of operating in either command or conventional.  To address the track in command I would press the boost and full power would go to the track and address the individual engines.

Do you do that with the same way ZW-L ?

Can I address the other ZW-L power master in a conventional mode like I could with the TPC’s ?

I plan to operate Legacy or TMCC command engines on the outer loop and conventional engines on the inner loop.  How can I do that?

Does anything change with respect to operating Legacy or TMCC engines in command?

The instruction manual only includes information for the Legacy 990 system and the CAB 1 but not the CAB1L.  Too bad they did not update the manual to include that information.

I’m sure to have additional questions once I get more information.

I don't have a ZW-L, but in reading your issues, I'm 99.999% sure there will be no problems doing all the stuff you want to do.

FWIW, the CAB1 and CAB1L are exactly the same operating instructions except for pulling out the antenna, there's really no extra documentation needed.  The ONLY functional difference between them is the old TMCC PowerMaster responds only to the CAB1 as it's a direct link.
