Lionel is doing their part to introduce the magic of Lionel trains to youths. Lionel has recently introduced their new "LionChief(tm) Remote Control Operating System" to their Thomas & Friends Ready to Run sets as well as on other starter sets. Instead of a traditional transformer power system, this wall pack system plugs directly into the wall outlets in your home. Lionel offers a hand held remote control device. This remote operates all functions of the trains including three different sound buttons. With a range of more than 60 feet, kids can run their train anywhere in the train room or in rooms next door. This hand held remote control system is user friendly and increases the play value of their new Lionel Starter sets. Parents, these new "Lionel LionChief (tm) Remote Control Operating System" starter sets start at a suggested retail price of just under $200.
