Hello. I have a Lionmaster T1 that has no sound. I last ran it about 2 weeks ago and perfect. Today I put it on the track and nothing. It moves back and fourth, whistle and stack smoke work. Tender coupler does not work and no sound. I tried a reset and got nothing, I tried deleting the locomotive from my hand held and a fresh install and nothing. Is there anything else I could try before it goes back to lionel? Thanks in advance

Pull the shell on the tender and make sure the wire to the IR sensor is not pinched by the shell and grounding it out.
Thanks, I have the shell off now. Nothing is pinched.
Check the wires for anything bare. I had this happen to one of my Lionmaster steamers.
If you have another tender (not a legacy engine) try swapping to eliminate engine or tender.
You can also use your cell phone camera to check the engine. Apply track power and turn camera on and place it behind engine tether. If you see a little dot you engine is working and your tender has the problem.

First, make sure the draw bar is aligned properly so the engine and tender can communicate. May times a bent draw bar can cause this issue.
For reset did you reprogram the R2lC with the engine code?
if the above have not worked and you tried the tender swap and a new tender works, you can go in an pull the RS boards and reseat them. That might restore sounds. G
Yes I tried the reprogram R2IC method as instructed by lionel, I tried deleting and Re- installing with the legacy card. As far as another tender, I tried my legacy K4 tender behind the T1 but nothing, I also wanted to try the T1 tender behind the K4 but the draw bar of the K4 is a bit bigger than the T1's receiving drawbar
Separate the locomotive and tender, put the tender on the track far from the locomotive and apply track power. Does it make sound?
Also, double-check the volume knob on the tender.
Sorry, I'm a bit confused, The K4 legacy tender is the only other tender I would have the has the same optical sensor as the T1. Try tender away from engine see if it starts conventional, not sure what you mean by that?
You don't have to connect the draw bar just a good alignment. Also do as RS suggested. If you remove the engine from the track and only have the tender on the track, when you apply track power the sounds should start. I edited my other post I didn't think the T1 was a legacy engine.

No sound from tender when its on the track away from locomotive and track powered up.
Based on the "tender all by itself/conventional mode" test, it is likely a hardware problem with the sound system in the tender. But make sure you check the volume knob!
Since you have lost rear coupler also, I would check power and ground wires, I.R. tether wires. If they are OK, the sound board probably is bad.
Volume was the initial check on both the controller and tender from the start. Volume is turned all the way up.
The tenders lights come on but no sound. Well, I guess I will have to send it out for repair. :/ Puzzled as what could have happened to it from the time it left the tracks, to the shelf and back to the tracks. Thank you all for the suggestions.
If this is model 11207 you have modular Legacy boards. So I would take shell off and make sure the power leads have continuity to the Mother board. You still can remove and reinstall the modular power supply and RS board. Make sure all wire harness plugged in.
Check speaker. Can you fire the rear coupler? Now? G
When these engines first came out, we replaced several RS power boards. I would look at that. If you get to that point, the RS power board in TMCC is the same if you have to swap one out.
