If you're having issues with your Big Boy and the DCS signal bypass the 2/3 rail switch, if you're running 3 rail, and tie both drivers and wheels together for solid ground contact. I had signal reception issues with my 4014 restoration Big Boy till I bypassed the 2/3 rail switch and tied all the grounds (wheels) together. After that it's been fine.

gunrunnerjohngunrunnerjohn , if I have to go back into the tender after "tuning" the drawbar that was trouble, I want to check the DSP visually for obstructions or whatever.  I've had electronics behave after spraying with compressed air and/or spraying with electronic cleaner.   I also want to check the ventilation since it always starts and runs for a while.

Thank you, Lou1985 .  If I remember correctly I did tie both drivers and wheels together.  I'm just not sure I bypassed the switch.

The Big Boy has been losing touch with the TIU off and on forever.  If I'm going to run my simulated passenger Excursion consist on my helix I will have to have the Big Boy and Diesel helper MU'd to climb that curved grade so the Big Boy must pay attention consistently.  The diesel will pull all but 4 of the 26 cars up the curved grade and it stays in touch with the DCS system.  They're both PS3.

When you removed the switch did you tie the brown and red wires to the white and black wires?2R3R outSml
