The Proto Cab Forward from MTH was recently upgraded and the tender buffer plate nudges the connector loose when going around sharp turns or across a double-crossover, which then makes it stop dead in it's tracks, so to speak.

Options appear to be to grind down the buffer plate on the tender (rather not) or get drawbar about 1/4" longer.  Grinding the end of the plug flat would seem to be a no-no.

Is there a longer drawbar which would resolve the problem?

Other options?

It's running on 072 or greater.  This is an upgrade to Proto2 from Protosound, so the plug/socket is not original.  The drawbar assortment isn't for this type of metal drawbar, at least the set I bought isn't.  Does MTH sell an assortment of the metal drawbars as well?  I might be able to klutzy one up from some bar stock of some sort if nothing else is available.

Contact MTH Tech Support.

Are you running it on tighter curves than it is rated for?

Not sure why it would do as described for any other reason.
