The Proto Cab Forward from MTH was recently upgraded and the tender buffer plate nudges the connector loose when going around sharp turns or across a double-crossover, which then makes it stop dead in it's tracks, so to speak.
Options appear to be to grind down the buffer plate on the tender (rather not) or get drawbar about 1/4" longer. Grinding the end of the plug flat would seem to be a no-no.
Is there a longer drawbar which would resolve the problem?

I would manufacture from scratch a draw bar that is a tad bit longer. Nothing like making something from scratch and then watching it work its magic.

MTH sells sets of drawbars in 3 lengths, don't know if one is longer tho.

I'd just whack one out of sheet metal, the plain drawbars are pretty simple pieces.
Or, you can cut your drawbar and solder a splice into it.
Hobby shops have lots of brass stock. All you need for a drawbar is some bar stock and two holes.
BTW, my proto one Cab Forward converted to TMCC is currently running on my O-54 inner loop with no problems.
