Holy speakers Batman! You play loud hip hop on that to get hyped for football games?
Are they all wired together in parallel? Each speaker makes the same sound at the same time?

Series, parallel. 8 ohm speakers, two pair in series then those pairs in parallel to give 8 ohm impedance. They all move together driven by one RS5 Railsounds board.

Pretty cool Alex.
Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Its a cool setup with good sounds from the RS5 board, the only thing lacking is a power booster to take full advantage of the 4 speaker setup. Each driver now is only getting 1/4 the power so its way understressed. Imagine if Lionel had the Super Bass electronics plus a decent enclosure? It would have rattled windows.

Huh - pretty ingenious. Thanks for posting Alex. I don't have one of these but it's great to see how it was built.
Thanks, Alex. That is cool! Hard to believe it is 20 years old already.
Whats the minimum radius on these? Any chance it'll do O-60?
First time I ever saw four speakers in any Lionel product, neat.

54 is tight, but they’ll do it....you should be good on 60.....I have 81 mains, and they look sooooo sweet on 81...😁😁😁....I have 54 on the Christmas layout, and for S&G’s I gave it a try....

Thanks Pat! These always pop up on the secondary market. I thought it might be neat option.

81 and 72 mains...Mine always takes the outside loop, can't remember when I last ran it with the skirting and streamlined tender. The speakers are amazing!
@Alex M are you still upgrading 6-28084 Deryfus's to Legacy? I am lucky enough to own one and would love to discuss the possibility of doing that with mine.

Rick,....put one behind your latest acquisition.....you’ll get weak in the knees....I promise...do check the speaker like Alex mentioned...I had several with the same issue....easy fix....

I actually have one of these I have not run yet. Looking forward to it. Hopefully Christmas. Have some medical issues but keeping my hopes up!
A PT tender? I don't think it could even float!
Well it dosn't float. But it probably carries torpedos! The kind you place on the track to warn crews, not the kind you shoot at ships...
Excuse me for asking, but didn't these Lionel Century Club NYC Niagara's have a lot of gear box issues...I know where one is that can be had reasonable, but didn't, do to the Pig in a poke thing, and just spring for one of the New ones......Thanks in advance...
Alex thanks for the Movie clip about the PT internals....Brandy !

This thread is about the seperate sale PT tenderthat was offered as and add on to the CCII ESE Hudson.
The Niagara tender only has 2 speakers
As far as the CCII Niagara is concerned. Yes the gearbox can be problematic as the gears were made out of plastic. I believe some folks have had decent luck with the factory gears and have yet to replacement.
Having said all that. A new metal gearset was manufactured a few years back thanks to efforts of a forum member (or two) and Mike Reagan.
Alex M has rebuilt several Niagara gearboxes.
