I was out at the IRM this weekend and saw this parked by the diesel shop, apparently when the E and F unit returned from Spencer this came with them. A pretty cool find I wasn't expecting. Not the best photos as I moving at the time but hey....

Maybe IRM should send out their diesels more often if strays are going to be following them home...

I believe this leapin' lizzard was formerly at the Cuyahoga Central...or whatever they call it! Still a really neat piece, as how many 'D4/ 'D5s are still around ?
That ALCO unit was picked up at the Nickel Plate and Mad River RR Museum, in Bellevue, Ohio on the return move with the various historic units enroute to Chicago, returning from the big "Streamliners Bash" in Spencer, NC.

Hot water thats cool, The CNW and the Burlington units are like magnets. Maybe a couple of more CTA 6000 units next time. Question is the RSD an actual former CNW unit.
Cool! IRM is starting to look like the CNW when I hired out as Brakeman in 1969! My first trip was the "Belvidere Job" out of West Chicago which passed the infant museum on the nearby main line of the Belvidere Sub. Too bad the Scoot didn't get into the photos to complete the illusion.
