Looking for a bar/tavern building..

Downtown Deco and York make great kits for bars, check out the scenery source list on the scenery forum for websites.

Dept56 make a couple of quite nice ones too.

I made my own and call it the Tiki Lounge.

Seems to me the application of proper signage, a neon sign from

whoever makes those (maybe some paint, if required) and you could turn almost any commercial building or kit into a bar/tavern. Almost any of them. I turned the first

floor of one of my MTH buildings into the "Fat B*****d" bar just with some decal

paper and dry transfer lettering. (It's called the "Fat B*****d bar because, well,

that's what I've been called.)

Another one is now the "Sea Breeze Cafe" - which used to be an eatery that I

remember on Mobile's waterfront. Just lettering and interiors (which I haven't

really gotten around to...)

Thanks for the comments...I have pursed all of them....I did find the one bar but it is not what I am looking for....

Funny that you posted the Saulena's Tavern.  I found that in HO....(I found a bunch of places I could use in HO)... but I can not find it in O scale.....   It is surprising to me that no one has brought out a few Taverns/bars/saloons, etc as drinking and building train scenes seem to go hand in hand!

Alan, I tried barnsmillmodels a couple of times earlier today but the website has been down...I was hoping it was a glitch and not a permanent problem....thanks everyone.

FYI....  My close friend is into O scale and has built a huge layout...   When we grew up we always talked about opening a bar so I am going to design this to model what we talked about years and years ago....

Fuzzy, there are a couple of Downtown Deco bars on E-bay now. One starting at $24. Also Matt from this forum has a article coming out in the Feb. issue of ORG with a modified Downtown Deco Bar. Don
