I’m thinking of buying one of these. Do you have one, What’s your opinion? Does it have a removable cover on top to access the switches? I assume all road names are the same.
I own several. I think they’re all Norfolk Southern now that I think about it. Several are the Heritage Units. The Bedt feature in my opinion is the sounds. Specifically the idle sounds. The engine will shut down and then restart when setting idle.
Be prepared because they all gave the fixed pilot that is prototypical. I’d recommend getting one!
I have two of them (82205 and 82209) and I like them a lot. I want another one if Lionel makes them again. You need O54 curves or bigger. My 2 have semi-fixed pilots, which means they can pull the car off the tracks that is behind them if you are on O54 curves and the car doesn't have some weight to it.

Thanks. Are the switches for odyssey and smoke, etc on top of the cab or on the bottom?
