About 18 years ago I made a multi table layout using the then available tubular K line shadow rail track. It was spectacular.

Moving on to different aspects of the hobby I sold off the layout, accessories and all the trains to a close friend who lives an hour away. I do get together with him and we run my old trains and make new projects happen.

I missed the experience so I decided to rebuild some of my former layout. Just one problem. The track I liked best is no longer made. Woops.

Inquiry: Is  there a source for replacement of this track for my rebuilding of former layout other than EBay?

I will be Looking for  fairly common 032 curves, a couple of 40 inch straight track and some 10 inch straights.

Any help appreciated.

Rustyrail thanks for looking. I only need 031 curves. Have 36 in width tables.

Dave 45681 thanks for answering Pat Kelly with a nice photo.

so, more interesting to all those who lament their former layouts.... I found three photos of my former layout. I will try and upload them..never done this before.

Former layout info: based on the main showcase layout in Easy Lionel Layouts You Can Build, by Peter H. Riddle. I used K line shadow rail track and Lionel 022's and postwar Lionel uncoupler speciality  tracks and bumpers. I had an EP 5 and a couple of GG1 electrics and ran them via overhead  power.building the catenary was a big but satisfying project.  The first three tables were 36x60 semi hollow doors coupled together by luggage latches. Homosote was used and painted green. The forth table had an extension of another foot making the table four feet wide. Here is where switching in an industrial center was done. I had a separate ZW for all on table four. Many decades before when I lived in Woodhaven Queens I would go to saint Vincent de Paul shows and found ten modified 022's (shortened curved section)that made this layout work in such a narrow space. Most if not all of the accessories were bought at YORK which I was fortunate to attend three times back in 2000 to 2003. I banked all the curves as they ran right on the edges of the tables just added some cork roadbed to the outter half of the curves and screwed down the inside of the track.  I never had any fall over accidents  this way.

CUrrently I have already rebuilt the three doors supported and connected complete with painted homosote. This year I have aquired some 022's, some K line track(still looking for some will figure out what's missing to complete first three tables) and just a few accessories (no where as many as the photos of former layout included).

I guess the topic has morphed somewhat into former layouts that will be rebuilt and simplified but enjoyed once more.

Ahh, cant wait to smell the ozone of postwar period once again.

thanks for allowing me to do the time machine thing with you guys.
