well still looking for another one thanks to my wife! Had my smoke unit that I bought off from paul ready to go into my S1 and she knocked it off the table!.Re tried it and the fan ran fast and it quit working..tried another fan and it doesnt work..something went bad on the circit board, proubley the one that regulates the fan voltage?Im not very happy with her.. Anything she touches it breaks on her..she went threw 4 cars and shes only 25 years old! Plus she gone threw 4 cell smart phones this year too...If anyone got one to sell me please please let me know...
Sorry to hear that Josey. Hopefully, she's not your Ex now...a new smoke unit is much more affordable!
Hopefully someone will come out with a after market smoke unit repair kit for proto 1 locomotives some day.
MTH shouldve quit making those units..when somebody quits making a part they let eveyone know about it..and there subpose to at least make the part for 10 years..like to know when they quit putting ps1 in there trains then go from that date of 10 year they should require to make parts.......its like when GM quit making saterns..they got to supply parts for those cars for 10 years..
It's been over 10 years since Proto 2 came out, I'm not certain of the exact date but it was around 2000. I'll have to look at the old catalogs.

to me as long as there still proto1 around then mth should be obugated to still make those proto 1 smoke units..
I agree with you, they should.
