The 5V board replacement should be a simple affair for most locomotives, MTH makes the PS32 board that has the connectors. Mount the new board, replace the speaker with a 4 ohm model, and you're back in the saddle.

Yep, but from what I heard or read somewhere is that those PS32 boards are sold to MTH Techs only. So I just assumed it would have been easier to just get a tech who can get such supplies and to the job as well.
