Can anyone share photos of the NYC and Great Northern Williams FA-1 Alcos? I have seen the catalog shots but would really like to see the real deal before buying anything. Thank you

Hi Chris!
Sorry for the subpar quality of my iphone snaps. This is my Great Northern A-B-A set which I upgraded last year to PS-2. Fairly good details for the money and a very strong puller before and after the modification. She is ready for the Holiday again this year.

Actually, the designation is "FA-1".
Thanks, everyone. Those photos of the GNs look good, as I was worried about reports of the washed out colors of the GN GP30s. BAR1959 and suzukovich, do you how the paints on the two models compare? Are you satisfied with the colors of your FAs?
Chris
I don't have pictures available, but I can tell you that the William NYC FA-1 diesels are beautiful. Nice detail. Excellent paint job. Strong pullers.
Chris as promised better pics

This should answer the paint question Side by side with my MTH GN SD9 You will notice that
The MTH SD9 the Pullman Green is slightly darker then the Williams FA1.
The orange on the MTH SD9 is brighter than the Williams FA1
In most light conditions you will be unable to tell the difference.
How about an old FA-1,at Williams (Arizona, that is)?
Sorry, couldn't resist posting this photo I took a few years ago:
Where is the pic?

Geez, what was supposed to be a simple joke has turned out to be anything but. It won't even be funny anymore after all this.
If this doesn't work, just ignore the whole thing...

Nice pics, Did you take all of them? Anyway Its an FPA-4 not an FA1 to bad,
Chris, here is an aspect of the Williams NYC FA1 that might be an issue. The font used for the NEW YORK CENTRAL lettering is not correct. It looks like some generic modern typeface from MS Word. Search for some images of actual NYC engines and you'll see the difference.
What's odd is that the Williams NYC Sharks use the correct font, or one that's very close. Not sure why they can't get it right on the Alco.
I knew someone would split hairs on the designation. Yeah, those are all my shots.

Well that's alright. A Williams 1/1 scale in your back yard, That's cool. Although I did not know they had made an FPA-4. I guess homesteading at Joint Base Lewis-McCord had its advantages.
FYI, here's a shot of a real NYC FA:

The wrong font may not bother everyone, but it jumps out at me, I guess. It just seems like something that isn't too hard to get right.
Thanks, Alan.
Here is my catalog page for the #20907 Williams FA-1 PRR A-A set. Also shown is the PRR B-unit.
